UNM-Taos’ Construction Technology Department invites applicants for Temporary Part time Faculty positions (Adjunct) to teach lower division courses. These positions will be hired on an as needed basis dependent on student enrollment, course offering matrix, and graduation requirements. Potential courses include (but not limited to) the following lower division courses:
CNST 111-Introduction to Welding (This course serves as an introduction to welding with a concentrated emphasis on developing techniques required in the profession of welding. In this introductory course we will focus on the technique of Arc Welding)
CNST 117-Principles of Oxyacetylene Welding (This course serves as an introduction to Oxyacetylene Welding with a concentrated emphasis on developing techniques required in the profession of oxyacetylene welding, due to the simplicity of the equipment compared to other welding methods)
CNST 109 Plumbing Theory I
CNST 114 Solar Adobe
CNST 118 Alternative Building Construction
CNST 124 Sustainable Energy-Photo Voltaic Systems
CNST 126 Photovoltaics
CNST 127 Introduction to Solar Technology
CNST 137 Alternative Building and Construction
CNST 174 Design for Green Building
One welding course is specific to Questa Independent School District for Fall 2019. Please note that in your application if you are applying to the Questa location.
Minimum Qualifications to teach or develop courses in the field or subfield for which you are applying are determined by Higher Learning Commission’s accreditation requirements for faculty, and must be met by one of these ways:
1. BA/BS in the field and/or a combination of education, training and tested experience. Training and experience could include the following: 3-5 years professional experience in the field and/or certifications/credentials in the field of Construction Technology (specific to your subfield).
1. Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution
2. Successful teaching in a community college environment
3. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
