UNM-Taos is an on-growing educational institution serving Taos County and surrounding areas in Northern New Mexico, preparing students for a successful professional life.
We are looking for a responsible, full time (term) Campus Service Assistant to maintain and protect then external and internal appearance of our facilities.
It is important that the successful candidate be detail oriented, thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises, being a team player and have a keen eye for detail and diligence.
The ideal candidate should be experienced in the cleaning process and focused on building upkeep. This person needs to have great physical endurance to cover large areas.
In addition, the Campus Services Assistant provides or assists with a diverse range of routine campus services for a UNM Branch campus, to include such duties as site security, basic light equipment operation and maintenance, custodial services, routine grounds maintenance and snow removal, logistical assistance, and/or other related duties in accordance with day-to-day requirements of the Branch
This job requires to work some nights and weekends, and scheduled shifts.
Ability to travel to main campus if required
Valid driver’s license required
|Conditions of Employment|
High School Diploma or GED; no previous experience required.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Knowledge of and experience in the maintenance and operation of common custodial equipment? (Such as buffing machines, hand power tools, and cleaning chemicals.)
Experience in ground maintenance and turf equipment operations.
Experience with security patrols.
Experience with snow removal equipment.
Knowledge of safety and risk management and or chemical safety.
Knowledge of the operation, minor installation, maintenance and repair of a variety of standard physical plant equipment.
Knowledge of assessing damage, reporting issues and informing management of significant problems with facilities.
