Position Summary

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is accepting applications for an academic faculty clinical psychologist, suitable for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Flex Track. Assignments will be through the Division of Community Behavioral Health. The position will be responsible for grant-writing, research and for the delivery of trauma-focused and women’s mental health services through the University of New Mexico Psychiatric Center. Experience in conducting evidence-based trauma interventions for women is highly preferred. Duties will include grant writing, research, collaboration in team based science, direct clinical services, teaching, assistance in completing grant management requirements; and assisting CBH faculty and staff in working with our behavioral health partners at the state.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in clinical psychology or related field
  • Clinical experience - minimum 1 year following postdoctoral training and minimum of 1000 clinical contact hours (or 2 years) in trauma-focused treatment with youth and families
  • Completion of Advanced Fellowship in Women’s Health
  • Licensable in New Mexico
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing and supervising comprehensive trauma assessment and measurement-based care
  • Experience providing Cognitive Processing Therapy
  • Experience providing Motivational Interviewing
  • Experience providing Dialectic Behavior Therapy
  • Experience in grant writing to federal agencies
  • Experience writing technical reports for policymakers
  • Experience providing specialized mental health services for women
  • Clinical supervision experience of aforementioned evidence-based practices in a variety of settings with diverse trainees, including child psychology interns and child psychiatry fellows
  • Prior training and experience in the provision of reflective supervision and secondary traumatic stress-informed supervision
  • Experience with consultation and collaboration on multidisciplinary teams
