Position Summary

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The Early Childhood Home and Family Services (ECHFS) division of the CDD is seeking an Admin Assistant 3 to provide administrative support to the Early Childhood Evaluation Program (ECEP) within the Clinical Evaluation Services Unit. The Admin Assistant 3 will function as part of a team to support clinic operations, schedule in PowerChart, and contact families, early intervention providers, and referral sources to assist with the intake process. The primary duties of the Admin Assistant 3 are to field calls from families, Early Intervention, and medical providers and to assist clinical staff with acquiring needed clinical information such as requesting records before and after evaluation. The Admin Assistant 3 will greet client families as well as assist with clinic compliance related duties and other clinic administrative coordination duties. The individual will perform data entry and run queries for internal reporting purposes.

Other administrative responsibilities: purchase supplies and materials with a university purchasing card, complete travel reimbursement as well as other financial activities, record meeting minutes, make room/van reservations, general office and storage organization, and maintain resource files and training materials. May assist outreach team with travel and lodging reservations.

* Familiarity with diverse communities including those of individuals with developmental disabilities, communities in need, and families with special needs children;

* Ability to work with a diverse group of clinical and managerial staff;

* Advanced coordination and organizational skills; and

* Ability to be flexible while staying professional and positive in a changing environment.

Conditions of Employment
  • This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Performing routine analysis

Knowledge and/or experience with HIPAA, PHI, and confidentiality regulations

Bilingual in English and Spanish
