This position is responsible for successful completion of medium to large business unit level projects on time and within budget. Responsible for developing project work plans, creating timelines, completing project status reports, managing project life cycle budgets, resource leveling, project co dependencies, facilitating project team meetings and maintaining project progress. Requires coordination and communication between the business, Information Technology (IT), and may include external vendors or service providers.
*Develops detailed project plans, including charter, scope, metrics, budget, timelines/schedules, risk management, progress reporting, and other elements as appropriate to the project.
*Develops resource leveling and project co-dependencies. Develops work plans, creates timelines, and completes project status reports.
*Facilitates project team meetings; manages project life cycle budgets.
*Defines the project team structure and approach and directs the progress of the project.
*Responsible for issues and risk logs, including accuracy, assignment, and mitigation of entries.
*Manages project related work provided by vendors, consultants, and contract labor.
*Serve as a resource for senior management with access to highly confidential and strategic organizational and departmental information.
*Holds project team members accountable for their assignments, responsible for delivering project on budget, on schedule and on agreed scope.
*Provides research, analytical, information support, and recommendations when requested, for decision making. Utilize Green Belt skills on projects as assigned.
*Participate on Performance Excellence Projects/Lean Six Sigma Projects as needed.
*Manages assigned projects through full lifecycle, including project initiation and requirements definition, planning, execution, monitoring, and project close.
*Partners with Executive Sponsors and business and technology stakeholders to define project/program governance structures and communication plans.
*Provides accurate and timely reports on project progress, identifying risks and opportunities and escalating as appropriate.
*Coordinates activities and communication across the project, including Executive Sponsors, Business Owners, Steering Committees, IT leaders, project team members and other stakeholders.
*Conducts Project Retrospective , including lessons learned , assessment of success criteria and realized (or anticipated) benefits.
*Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelors degree in Business, healthcare, or related field required. Masters preferred. Current Project Management Institute (PMI) certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or must obtain certification within six months of employment. Minimum of four (4) to seven (7) years of project management data analysis or similar experience required, healthcare preferred. At least three years directly managing low to medium complexity projects. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Must be able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
