Education:
Essential:
* Master Degree

Graduation from a program for physician assistants approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) of the American Medical Association, and possess a baccalaureate degree.  Post-graduate Fellowship in orthopedics or two years experience in a clinical orthopedic setting preferred.

 

 

 

Competencies and skills:

·         Performs history and physical assessments.

·         Assists in surgery.

·         Performs post-operative in-patient rounding.

 

·         Performs minor surgical procedures including casting

 

·         Performs health maintenance activities.

 

·         Administers preventative health care methods.

 

·         Interprets lab and x-ray results.

 

·         Serves as a patient educator.

 

·         Serves ¿on-call responsibilities.

 

·         Performs possible in-patient health care.

 

·         Performs other functions as required.

Summary:
Provides quality healthcare in collaboration with other health care provides in an outpatient clinic/practice, surgical assisting, and post-op rounding
