\nResponsible for all professional medical judgments and the management of care\nfor all related inpatient consults. Will work collaboratively with the GI\noutpatient team, specialty physicians, and other facility-based healthcare\nprofessionals to ensure the highest quality of care is provided for patients\nadmitted into the hospital.<\>

Summary:<\>

·       \nMakes all professional medical\njudgments in the care of patients seen.<\>

·       \nCollaborates with Advanced Practice\nClinicians (APC) on the GI Hospital team<\>

·       \nLeads educational seminars daily 1:1\nand regularly with the APC team<\>

·       \nPerforms medical management of\nhospitalized patients 7 days a week<\>

·       \nPerforms procedural interventions\nwhen required by the inpatient service<\>

·       \nCovers night call as needed by the\ninpatient service<\>

·       \nManages and oversees the\nphysician/patient relationship.<\>

·       \nParticipates in system-wide health\nmanagement initiatives.<\>

·       \nProvides input into the practice\nsites financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; capital\nplan; and personnel issues.<\>

·       \nAssists in the development and\nimplementation of clinical and service standards.<\>

·       \nReceives and resolves patient\ncomplaints.<\>

·       \nParticipates in the recruitment and\nreplacement of other providers.<\>

·       \nEnhances professional growth and\ndevelopment through participation in educational programs, literature review,\nin-services, and workshops.<\>

·       \nPerforms other functions as\nrequired.<\>
