Summary:
Responsible for the leadership and direction of PHS receiving, shipping, distribution, transportation, central supply, warehousing, inventory management (official and unofficial), par level management, par level replenishment, patient charging for supplies and services, durable medical equipment (DME), asset tracking, returns, and recalls; and responsible for optimizing labor, inventory, equipment and technology resources to provide the highest-valued, customer-focused logistical services to the PHS business units served.

 

Responsibilities:
*Develop Supply Chain Logistics¿ strategic plan with long-term vision, goals, and objectives; and a business plan with initiatives and tactics to achieve the vision
*Stay abreast of industry best practices and trends and incorporate applicable aspects in to the Logistics strategy and business plan
*Provide leadership and direction to SC Logistics¿ staff with an emphasis on talent development, teamwork, and job satisfaction (Strive); conduct annual evaluations and development planning; lead recruitment, hiring, promotion/demotion, disciplinary counseling, and termination or reassignment activities.
*Organize staff and resources to execute initiatives and tactics effectively and efficiently, and monitor and report progress; elevate issues and concerns timely
*Lead design and implementation of supply chain inventory management and replenishment models to optimize labor and inventories ; oversee cycle counts and physical inventories as required
*Optimize the use of Lawson and available technologies to better perform tasks, and to improve services and outcomes
*Manage all staff scheduling and assignments to ensure all work functions and requirements are completed effectively and at the highest standards
*Lead and manage all receiving and distribution functions; loading docks¿ organization and schedules; internal delivery routes and schedules; package tracking/PODs; courier services; and capital equipment staging, tagging, and annual physical inventory
*Lead and manage the patient charging system for applicable supplies, services, and equipment in order to optimize revenue, streamline processes, and increase nursing/user satisfaction
*Provide oversight and manage key logistical supplier relationships, e.g., acute supply distributor, non-acute supply distributor, DME supplier, courier services, freight management, UPS/FedEx, etc.
*Organize and lead Supply Chain¿s emergency/disaster preparedness and response, and actively participate in the PHS Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) efforts
*Ensure 100% compliance with all Federal and State healthcare regulations, TJC standards, and PHS Policies and Procedures
*Actively support Supply Chain Formulary enforcement; and provide leadership for addressing back-orders, stock-outs, substitutes, trials, conversions, and recalls
*Proactively evaluate PHS supplies, services, and equipment usage trends and recommend operational process improvements
*Develop education and communications plans for all user-departments and key stakeholders to ensure compliance with Supply Chain Policies and Procedures and to improve customer satisfaction
*Develop annual department operational and capital budgets, and manage Supply Chain Logistics¿ operations to meet/exceed approved budgets
*Other tasks as assigned
