Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, a not for profit research center dedicated to the cure of respiratory disease and located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our high functioning team in the role of Full Stack Developer II.
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology and under general direction, the Developer will architect, design and develop our SaaS-delivered software platform, including front-end, services, APIs and databases. Will collaborate directly with product owners, designers, UX, and other developers to gain understanding of new features, dependencies, and technical details, and perform all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.
Will focus on creating commercialization full stack software - including work on major sub-systems of the services which may include API, front-end back-end, database, server operations, status monitoring, or multi-threaded utilities. Will be responsible for technical implementation, internal documentation, unit test development, and maintenance work on a subsystem, under supervision and mentoring from senior members of the group.
The Developer will be relied on to solve problems, build models and ensure code changes meet business requirements and fulfill user needs. Will be expected to research and stay current on industry trends and provide guidance on best practices in leading significant changes to our platform and department.
Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or similar technical field of study and a minimum 2 years of directly-related professional-level developer experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
The successful candidate will be able to both understand the big picture and be forward looking while also successfully implementing and overseeing day-to-day responsibilities. Must have strong problem-solving skills, proven ability to assess current and future system risks, and the ability to brainstorm with other team members and leverage constructive feedback.
Experience using open-source software and skills related to developing user interfaces and data modeling are required, as well as experience with building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring and operations including server, network and cloud hosting environment experience.
Requires a professional demeanor, strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills, excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. Must be enthusiastic and willing to take on new duties and tasks and taking on challenges, and have demonstrated success in working independently as well as a part of a team, and the ability to work against firm deadlines. Must have strong skills in the systems and processes outlined above.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
