Job Summary
Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking an experienced Contractor Assurance Specialist in Carlsbad, New Mexico.  

The successful candidate will report to either the Corrective Actions Program Manager or the Performance Monitoring and Reporting Manager depending on specific area(s) of responsibility. The successful candidate will apply organizational and analytical skills to coordinate implementation of NWP's Contractor Assurance processes within assigned area(s) of responsibility, including interface with Functional Area representatives and subject matter experts, collection and analysis of data, development and maintenance of databases, and generation of process documentation and reports. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to one or more of the following:
  • Issues management- coordinate and track issue management within the Issues Management Processing System including screening, analysis, corrective action development and implementation, and closure.
  • Occurrence reporting - coordinate and track condition and event reporting into DOE's Occurrence Reporting and Processing System and Noncompliance Tracking System.
  • Fact finding/critique - facilitate conduct and reporting of fact finding and critique meetings for program/facility conditions or events.
  • Causal analysis- perform root cause or apparent cause analysis of conditions or events including related report and presentation development and delivery.
  • Operating experience/ lessons learned- facilitate development and dissemination of internal lessons learned, and collection, analysis, and dissemination of external operating experience and lessons learned.
  • Performance measurement and trending- develop, maintain, and analyze performance indicators for various NWP processes including assisting Responsible Managers with establishing performance measurement systems.
  • Assessment - facilitate and track planning, execution, and reporting for external assessments, management self-assessments, and the management observation programs.
  • Requirements management - facilitate Responsible Manager ownership and implementation of contract requirements, including manipulation and maintenance of the Requirements Management System.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree plus six (6) years of related experience, or
  • Associate’s degree with ten (10) years of related experience, or
  • High School Diploma or GED plus fourteen (14) years of related experience is required.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with standard computer applications.
  • Due to the nature of work, candidates must be US Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications
  • DOE nuclear facility experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Contractor Assurance related programs/processes is desired.
  • Training/certification in performance improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) is a plus.
  • Training/qualification in causal analysis is preferred.
  • Prior WIPP Project experience is a plus.
