Position Summary
This is a term Appointment: Funding available through 6/30/2016; continuance beyond that date is subject to department's operational needs as outlined in UBPPM #3200.

The Early Childhood Services Center at UNM Continuing Education is seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager. This position acts as the primary administrative manager for multiple and varied databases including the Home Visiting Database Project and manages project deliverables to ensure contract timelines are met successfully. The candidate will be responsible for managing multiple database projects including, but no limited to, four systems within the Home Visiting Database Project.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience with budget management, personnel management and contract management/monitoring/reporting
  • Documented experience and skill in successful collaborations with a wide variety of constituents including funders, programming staff, program staff, and community entities
  • Documented knowledge of database management and related technical skills (technical writing of report queries, understanding of database structures/database design, reporting data for analysis) as needed to supervise and direct the activities of team members
  • Developing strategies for user support of data entry, data review, and data reporting
  • Experience with contract/grant proposals and excellent written and interpersonal skills

    Minimum Qualifications
    Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

    Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of management level experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Or 60 college level credits; at least 5 years of experience 2 of which are management level experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. OR High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience 2 of which are management level experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.


    Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business/Finance, IT Applications, Computer Science, Social Services
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining supportive work relationships in a culturally sensitive manner
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish trust and rapport with members of diverse communities
  • Word processing, spreadsheet, and strong data management skills are a must
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with front end/back end of one or more commercial databases including data extraction, reporting, design and analysis as necessary to support multiple, varied databases which operate under a variety of platforms
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with programmers and technical staff
