Position Summary
The Cariño Early Childhood Training & Technical Assistance Program (TTAP) with UNM Continuing Education is seeking a Program Manager to establish and manage integrated development and training strategies for Early Childhood Programs. The Program Manager will develop and implement training plans based on scope of program work requirements. The selected candidate oversees, coordinates, and evaluates curriculum development, and oversees the preparation and delivery of training. Provides technical and professional coordination, and leadership in the management of administrative and daily operations. Participates in the development of operating budgets, and management of state funding. Collaborates with other Early Childhood programs, departments, managers, community organizations, and represents the program externally.

This is a term Appointment: Funding available through 6/30/2017; continuance beyond that date is subject to department's operational needs as outlined in UBPPM #3200.

Skills / Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of management level experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Or 60 college level credits; at least 4 years of experience 2 of which are management level experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. OR High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience 2 of which are management level experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles and Theories
  • Knowledge of Early Childhood Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP)
  • Knowledge of the Early Learning Guidelines
  • Knowledge of the Assessment, Observation, Documentation, and Curriculum Planning Process
  • Knowledge of the New Mexico STARS Tiered Quality Rating Improvement System
  • Master Trainer on the New Mexico Trainer Registry
  • Approved facilitator for the New Mexico 45 Hour Early Childhood Entry Level Course
  • Experience teaching adults in formal and informal environments
  • Experience developing training curricula specific to Early Childhood Education
  • Experience developing and managing comprehensive training plans
  • Familiarity with LUMENS enrollment management system
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining supportive work relationships in a culturally sensitive manner
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
