Job: Medical Records Clerk - Experienced

Maintains recordkeeping and filing system.

Classifies, sorts and files correspondence, records and other documents accordingly.

Retrieves information from files as requested and assembles data.

Follow confidentiality guidelines while duplicating material.

Responsible for mailing or faxing requested material to other facilities.

Ensures the accurate and timely compilation and maintenance of medical record documentation.

Pulls charts for next day and same day appointments and preparing charts for visits.

May perform chart analysis and obtain appropriate signatures.

Research loose papers to ensure proper patient identification is available to file paper in proper medical record.

Track disclosures for HIPAA and records sent to storage.

Maintain medical records logs.

Performs general office tasks as necessary.

Work hours are typically Days, M-F, but some positions can include weekends and evenings.

These positions are TEMPORARY.

MUST HAVE a minimum of 1 YEAR MEDICAL RECORDS experience working at a MEDICAL FACILITY or in a DOCTOR'S OFFICE.

Strong attention to detail is very important.

Good computer knowledge is necessary.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Background check, drug screening and TB testing is also required.
