Our client is seeking a Senior Calibrations Bench Technician (aka Metrology/Validation Technician II).
Essential Functions: This position is responsible for scheduling and performing instrumentation calibration updating the Calibration Manager and maintaining the calibration files. In addition to this the technician will be assisting the Validation department in various project. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities (shortened): • Calibration of analog and digital Measurement & Test Equipment (M&TE) including but not limited to gauges/transducers, temperature sensors, humidity sensors, tachometers, calipers, micrometers, top loading balances and floor scales. • Complete calibration certificates in an orderly and neat manner. • Review calibration data ensuring accuracy of calibration, dates and completeness. • Use computers to enter calibration data and other calibration software tasks. • Coordination of calibration activities with user/ Management. • Communication of instrumentation problems with user/ Management. • On occasion, be called in to work on non-scheduled hours. • Troubleshoot and make minor repairs of instrumentation. • Must be capable of calibrating major systems with minimal supervision. • Trains lower tech level personnel in the proper techniques and technical understanding necessary to provide accurate and technically acceptable M&TE calibrations. • Maintain accurate and current M&TE procedures and documentation. • Execute protocols for the validation of equipment, utility facilities, and process used in aseptic manufacturing. (Complete job description available) Education or Equivalent: Four to eight years directly applicable calibration, instrumentation or electronic troubleshooting experience with an Associate’s Degree or equivalent years’ experience (i.e., two year degree equals four years experience. Skills & Requirements: • Must possess basic computer skills including utilizing software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and calibration data software such as Calibration Manager. Ability to enter calibration data, write reports, and business correspondences. Ability to comprehend and apply principle of Physics and basic mathematics through modern algebra. Ability to read, analyze and interpret SOP’s, technical procedures and government regulations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions from these observations. Must be proficient in the use of basic hand tools. • Qualified candidates will be called and possibly scheduled for an appointment to be considered for the position by our client. The appointment will be about two hours and will include a pre-employment evaluation, application, felony background check, physical assessment, interview, in-house urine-analysis drug screen, etc. Physical Requirements; Must be able to lift 75 lbs. from the ground to a height of three feet. Have vision or corrected vision to 20/20, and the ability to differentiate colors. Manual dexterity, must have or possess the following abilities: hand-eye coordination, climb, work by feel, balance, crawl, stoop, kneel, work or reach in tight places. This position is majority under normal office conditions or in manufacturing areas where there may be exposure to constant noise from equipment, warmer or cooler than normal temperatures. May occasionally be working near moving mechanical parts, working with devices that are extremely hot or cold. The noise level may require ear protection, at times. Also, must provide documentation to complete the form I-9 (for example valid driver's license and a social security card).
Important Notes
This position is located in Albuquerque. Candidates from outside this area are welcome to apply but there is no additional compensation or moving expenses included. This position is a longterm position for about 6 months; the position could turn into temp-to-hire.
