At S.A.F.E. House, our mission is to shelter and empower survivors of intimate partner domestic violence and to improve the way our communities respond to this violence. We have one of the largest domestic violence shelters in the region and offer a range of services including a residential shelter, advocacy and support, community education and transitional housing services.
We are currently seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Therapist to work with individuals and families in group and one on one settings. To be responsible for providing individual and group counseling and crisis intervention, advocacy and supportive services to adult, adolescents and children who are or have been victims of domestic violence. Will also be responsible for educating residents and non residents on recognizing abusive characteristics and developing coping skills and adaptive strategies to maintain a life free of violence If you have a passion for working with victims of domestic violence, a proven track record in your field and a desire to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families, then this may be the opportunity for you. This position offers flexibility in scheduling and is available either on a Part time or Full Time basis. Skills / Requirements
We are seeking bright, caring individuals with a passion for serving individuals in crisis. Specific requirements include:
-Bachelor's degree in a mental health related field required. Master’s Degree preferred -New Mexico license in counseling, social work or mental health. (BMSW, LMSW, LISW, LPCC) : Master's level license preferred. -At least 1 year experience in group and individual counseling with adults, adolescents, children and families, including skills -Knowledge of and/or experience with victims and survivors of domestic violence - Twenty one years of age or older. - Valid NM Driver’s license and clean driving and criminal background record. -Bilingual/Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish S.A.F.E.
