Overview:
Under general supervision, incumbent provides technical and programmatic Information Assurance/Information Security services to external customers in support of network and information systems security. As part of a team, the incumbent is responsible for developing, promoting and administering the customer's Incident Response Team; is tasked with developing and enforcing security policies, monitoring data networks and information systems; provide information security consulting and advisory services; reviews new or modified information systems to ensure the protection of information technology systems and data against unauthorized (accidental or intentional) disclosure, modification or destruction. Additionally, the incumbent will develop long-range plans and policies for information systems security, anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate and minimize risks and incidents associated with information system vulnerabilities. The incumbent will participate in reviewing security incident response policies and processes to identify changes needed based on new security technologies or threats. Will support implementation of higher-level security requirements stipulated in laws, regulations, Presidential directives and integrates information security programs across disciplines. Identifies significant actual and potential cyber security problems, trends and weaknesses and recommends modifications and solutions for reducing IT security risks and develops strategies for responding to future information security challenges. The incumbent coordinates with network operations and IT systems administration personnel to ensure the organization's security-in-depth program remains integrated.    

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or Management of Information Systems preferred OR equivalent 6 years direct experience in the IT field in lieu of degree. In addition, minimum of 4 years experience in Information Security/Information Assurance specifically. Demonstrated experience in vulnerability management, intrusion detection/prevention, incident response and mitigation, systems and network security, DITSCAP/DIACAP or NIST SP 800-37 Certification & Accreditation processes preferred. Certifications like GSEC, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CPT, CEH, CCSP, MCSA/MCSE are a plus.
