CHARGE POSTER
Requisition Number: 29087 Location: NM - Albuquerque Type of Opportunity: Regular Full-Time FLSA Classification: NON-EXEMPT Minimum Experience: 1 year Minimum Education: High School Degree or Equivalent Shift: Days * Coordinates all activities surrounding charge posting to include verification of coding, tracking down charges, responding to special requests for information from physicians. * Researches and answers billing questions from the billing office or patients as needed. * Obtains customer demographic information to facilitate the billing process. Ensures the collection of insurance information related to claim submission. * Serves as the key site contact for patients related to billing issues. Collects identified patient financial obligation, and resolves account according to standard protocols. * Answer telephones, takes and relays information and messages. May answer routine questions regarding hospital and departmental operations, policies and procedures. * Retrieves information from files as requested and assembles data. Responsible for following confidentiality guidelines while duplicating material using photocopy machine. Responsible for mailing or faxing requested material to other PHS facilities and other appropriate facilities. * Maintains and fosters effective public relations with patients, providers and the public by listening, responding, and documenting customer phone and walk-in inquiries and issues. * Obtain referrals and authorizations by researching contract guidelines and contacting insurance companies and patients. Ensures the accurate and timely compilation and maintenance of medical record documentation. Acts as liaison with business office to successfully resolve billing issues and patient account balances. * Coordinates care activities. Coordinates appointments in collaboration with providers and clinical support staff. Provides documentation of scheduled appointments, procedural instructions and location directions. Monitors the daily patient schedule, places reminder calls and identifies 'no shows' for rescheduling. * Performs other functions as required. Skills / Requirements
High School (GED) One or more years of clerical/office experience is required.
