This position works closely with both the Web Service Development Section as well as the DOH’s Web Master, and is involved in the web development projects.

Schedule will be from either 10-7pm or 8-11pm

Responsibilities for the Jr. Web Developer position include:

• Planning, designing, developing, editing, and organizing web content, primarily H1N1 related information, on various NMDOH internet and intranet websites.
• Manage, update, and maintain Internet and intranet sites using a content-management system.
• Perform project tasks such as content gathering, formatting, testing and compliance management.
• Obtain content approval as needed; make edits as necessary.
• Working with a variety of different people involved in the Internet and intranet creation process, including Web developers and designers, technical teams / IT, site owners, creative services, marketing, legal and compliance teams
• Ensure that site content is user- focused and consistent in style, format, and quality.
• Implement new content initiatives and participate in site redesigns.

Additional Duties include:

• Research, suggest, implement, test, and support innovative Web solutions and serve as a resource to group communications content editors on new Web-editing features, best practices, and emerging trends.
• Manage multiple Web site content projects, both large and small.
• Hand code Web pages when necessary using HTML.
• Must have experience in Macromedia Contribute, some JAVA scripting experience is a plus. Must know HTML.
