Position Summary: The University of New Mexico Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-Designated Cancer Research and Treatment Center. The UNMCC is a statewide provider of cancer services and is influential in the cancer care field throughout the state of New Mexico.

The UNMCC's Hereditary Cancer Clinic is seeking a Clinic Coordinator to organize and coordinate the cancer genetics clinic. Duties will include scheduling patients and assisting with registration. The person in this position will create and organize patient charts and be responsible for gathering medical records. Will coordinate specialist referrals; laboratory procedures and follow-up appointments. Will be responsible for physician and patient correspondence and mailing. Will be responsible for taking family history information over the phone and verifying medical diagnosis.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience:

- Dealing with patients under stressful conditions.

- Coordinating with care providers.

Knowledge of:

- And experience with word processing and basic data entry programs.

- Patient confidentiality regulations and methods.

- Bilingual; Spanish/English
