Jobing Description
Position Summary: The Industrial Hygiene Specialist who will under general supervision provide various industrial hygiene (IH) and other environmental health & safety (EH&S) services to the University of New Mexico. These include: monitoring and reporting on air quality (indoor and outdoor), assessing workplace hazards and health conditions, assistance on ventilation issues, participation on related IH and EH&S committees and teams and other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time benefits eligible position. Skills / Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). Graduate degree in engineering, physics or the natural sciences. Experience in: Writing and concise technical reports. Documented practice of Industrial Hygiene or similar environmental health field. Performance of air quality, bio-safety and chemical hygiene evaluations. Important Notes

Requires some heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 60 pounds; physical work is a minor part (less than 30%) of the job.
