Job: Intern/Athletics Department (0803474)

Position Summary: Funding available through 6/30/2010; continuance beyond that date is subject to the Department's operational needs as outlined in UBPPM #3200, Employee Classifications.

The University of New Mexico, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the Mountain West Conference is seeking applications for an Athletics Development Intern to assist in a broad range of fund-raising efforts. Under direction of the Director of Annual Giving, and as a member of the Lobo Club staff, this position will handle a wide range of duties including oversight of special projects including quarterly coaches luncheons, annual student-athlete social, thank-a-thon and chapter events; administration of newly launched young alumni/student-athlete giving program; assist in the endowment and major giving recognition and research processes; and assist in the marketing of the Lobo Club. The successful candidate must have strong time management and interpersonal skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. This position requires working nights and weekends. Experience in athletics administration is preferred.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; at least 6 months of directly related experience which may include or consist of Intercollegiate playing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in sports management or athletic administration.

Experience in:

Athletics development.

Intercollegiate athletics.

The management of special events.
