REGISTRAR I
Requisition Number: 28172 Location: NM - Espanola Type of Opportunity: Regular Full-Time FLSA Classification: NON-EXEMPT Minimum Experience: 1 year Minimum Education: High School Degree or Equivalent Shift: Varied * Registers all patient types to ensure proper documentation, to include obtaining complete demographic and billing data to comply with billing and regulatory agency requirements, insurance verification and designated scope. * Obtains signatures on all required documents. * Financially secures accounts by asking and receiving payments from patients and issues receipts, reconciles daily cash and verifies cash balances, posts and prepares receipts for deposit. * Documents all activity in the Hospital Information system. * Completes updates on patient demographic, financial, and compliance information in the Medipac system. * Knowledge of FSS and LMRP systems. * Utilizes the necessary systems to proactively complete registration, and verification functions. * Validate workers compensation insurance information from employers. * Communicates with patients in a confidential professional manner using tact and diplomacy. Advises patients and their families of co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurances at time of service. * Meets established collection goals for designated areas. * provides for extra coverage as needed. * Applies skills, knowledge, abilities, and utilizes reporting tools in order to meet performance and productivity standards as defined by Patient Access Supervisor and by workloads. * Adheres to department Quality Review process. Performs follow-up as accounts are processed to ensure timely and accurate completion. * Quality review on departmental accounts. * Receives constructive feedback from the Patient Access Supervisor and incorporates it into daily operations. * In compliance with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety environmental, and infection control standards. Ensure compliance with HIPPA, EMTALA, and JCAHO. * Performs other duties as assigned Skills / Requirements
High school diploma or GED. Less than one year experience in clerical office setting or in healthcare setting. One to two years customer service experience. Must be able to work cooperatively with the public as well as all levels of staff and management in the organization. Requires exceptional organizational and prioritization skills. Basic computer keyboard experience and ten key required
