Shift: Varied

* Evaluates and assesses patients for oncology and hematologic disorders

* Conducts hospital rounds on assigned oncology/hematology patients

* Orders, conducts and implements therapy procedures based on appropriate diagnostic and lab tests.

* Screens symptom calls and triages to oncologists, as needed

* Prescribes treatment medications and provides appropriate diagnosis

* Educates and counsels individuals and families

* Collects bone marrow aspirates and biopsies as directed by Medical Oncologist

* Prepares chemotherapy orders for pharmacy and the infusion center based upon oncology protocol

* Serve as health care resources and patient advocate.

* Performs other functions as required.

Master's degree in nursing as a nurse practitioner. New Mexico license required. One year Oncology experience required; Two years oncology preferred.
