MD- MED ONCOLOGY
Requisition Number: 27730 Location: NM - Albuquerque Type of Opportunity: Regular Full-Time FLSA Classification: EXEMPT Minimum Experience: 5 years Minimum Education: MD Shift: Varied * Makes all professional medical judgments in the care of hematology/oncology patients seen, in the office and the hospital. * Follows the expectations of the PMG Compact. * Participates in system wide health management and operation initiatives when appropriate. * Actively participates in the Presbyterian Cancer Committee, Tumor Board Meetings, and Multi-Disciplinary Care Team Meetings * Actively participates in activities to ensure American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer standards are met and CoC accreditation status is maintained. * Assure that all JCAHO and other federal/state regulatory standards are met. * Provides input into the practice site's financial, clinical, and service quality performance * Assists in the development and implementation of clinical and service standards. * Receives and resolves patient complaints when appropriate. * Participates in the recruitment and replacement of other hematology/oncology providers. * Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, inservices, and workshops. * Participates in hospital on-call ER schedule as well as practice call.. * Performs other functions as required. Skills / Requirements
Skills: M.D./D.O. on active staff at PHS. Board Certified or Board-eligible Oncologist with clinical experience. Medical License required.
Knowledge: Requires detailed knowledge of concurrent review, case management and quality improvement methods in terms of theories and practices to serve as the resource or educator to other practitioners on medical staff. This staff member must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served. Abilities: Mental Power: Ability to make decisions that require significant analysis and investigation with solutions requiring original thinking. Mental Power: Ability to exercise broad discretion to define and execute activities with freedom to proceed on major assignments; involves working with others to establish organizational objectives and defining policy.
