Position Summary: Funding available through 09/30/2011; continuance beyond that date is subject to the Department's operational needs as outlined in UBPPM #3200, Employee Classifications.
A Research Technologist is sought to conduct a wide range of animal experiments related to brain injury. Direct experience with animal handling, animal surgery, brain tissue processing are essential. A strong background in animal models related to CNS diseases, particularly stroke, and in immunohistochemistry will be needed. The ability to work independently, as well as with a team, will be essential to success in this position. Strong organizational and communication skills are a plus. This is a full-time benefits eligible position. Skills / Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of directly related experience. OR Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 1 year of directly related experience. OR Bachelor's degree; no previous work experience required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in: Ischemic animal stroke model. Cryosectioning rat or mouse brain. Immunohistochemistry. Demonstrated ability to work independently. A BS in biology or a related field is preferred. Important Notes
