Position Summary: Funding available through 03/31/2010; continuance beyond that date is subject to the Department's operational needs as outlined in UBPPM #3200, Employee Classifications.
The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology is seeking a highly motivated Health Science Associate Scientist I. This position requires a Master's level scientist who is able to independently undertake or collaborate in the planning, development, and implementation of molecular, cellular and biochemical bases of cancer. Candidates are required to have a Master's degree,be familiar with experimental strategies in quantitative proteomics and lipidomics in cancer research and the ability to lead in the design and execution of research protocols and procedures within a specified component of an integrated research study. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position. Skills / Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree with no previous work experience required. OR Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in: Isolation of lipoprotein complex. Mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics. Mass spectrometry-based quantitative lipidomics. Cancer-related research. With maintaining smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of research protocols. Important Notes

Additional requirements for this position: For individual positions in which driving is a job requirement, a valid NM driver's license and valid UNM driver's permit will be required. Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
