Demand Planner The Opportunity Are you a self-motivated team player who enjoys a flexible work schedule and having a voice in the direction of the company? Do you possess in-depth knowledge of marketing trends and have a strong feel for data analysis? If so, Rio Grande wants to hear from you! Rio Grande is seeking a Demand Planner to add to our supply chain team.. This person thrives on gathering and analyzing marketing and sales trends to best plan for the future market. The Demand Planner oversees the development of forecasts and forecasting tools for new, seasonal and continuing products and leads the integration of these forecasting tools and processes into the replenishment, supply chain and manufacturing processes for our company. The Fun • Create, analyze, and fine-tune individual and grouped item-demand forecasts and inventory plans • Review, adjust and release planned replenishment orders • Analyze and rationalize forecasts and actual demand, then assist in the improvement process to support efficient forecasting and replenishment • Ensure continuous improvement in the forecasting and inventory management processes • Monitor and manage inventory levels • Responsible for product life-cycle management • Develop cash flow analysis • Collaborate and communicate extensively with Purchasing, Manufacturing, IT, Marketing, Distribution and Sales teams The Requirements The Demand Planner must have at least three years experience in forecasting and planning as well as experience with supply chain operations. A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is a plus. The successful candidate will possess superior math, statistical, analytical, conceptual and brainstorming skills, as well as excellent communicating and interpersonal skills. We’re looking for a team-oriented, self-motivated associate with the ability to view conditions from a global perspective and work creatively in solving complex problems. Organizational and prioritizing skills and a keen eye for detail are musts. A strong understanding of DRP, MRP and other replenishment management methodologies is required, and experience with implementing forecasting systems is recommended. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and APICS certification, or the equivalent, is preferred.
