Jobing Description
Purchasing –Jewelry Findings Buyer
This position is responsible for the creation, development and execution of the merchandise strategy. The Buyer will define product assortments and manage business plans to maximize sales, margins and inventory turnover.
• Responsible for sourcing, quality, cost and operational needs of base metal, gold and alternative metals.
• Forecast fashion trends, evaluate competition and attend major tradeshows.
• Identify fashion opportunities and generate strategic plans relating to vendors, products and marketing.
• Work with Product Managers and Planner/ Forecasters to develop business strategies and goals.
• Execute vendor selection and creatively develop partnerships with new vendors.
• Manage current vendor relationships to ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement and receipt of goods.
• Work with Control Buyers to plan strategic buys on specific products (opportunity buys, blankets, etc.) and manage the vendor negotiation and operational impact of those purchases.
• Analyze purchasing reports to identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational cost containment.
• Collaborate with operational teams (receiving, packaging, returns Customer Service and other CC teams) to develop agreements, process and quality standards for the handling of products - both proactively and reactively.







Skills / Requirements
Qualifications:
• Passion and eye for fashion trends in apparel and accessories
• Verbal and written communication skills and ability to perform arithmetic computations is essential.
• Able to gather and interpret information from multiple sources to make decisions.
• Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task.
• Comfortable with collaboration
• Disciplined in providing information to others in a timely, consistent and professional manner.
• Develops and maintains productive partnerships internally and externally.
• Indentifies and negotiates “win-win” opportunities (agreements)
• Treats others with dignity and respect.
• Conducts business with honesty and integrity
• Influences others’ thoughts and actions to do what is right for the business.
• Willingness to travel; domestic and overseas.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four year college or university; at least two years of buying experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
