Job: Registered Nurse - Part Time - Private Services Division

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for activities with the private non-licensed clients and employees that require the skills of an RN. This position will be responsible for varying duties within the division as directed and assigned by the Nursing Services Manager. Using clinical knowledge, the scope of care provided by the non-skilled staff will be evaluated for compliance under the Nurse Practice Act and other regulatory requirements

JOB DUTIES
Provides clinical expertise to the staff of the Private Service Division.
Performs routine supervisory visits to clients receiving home health aide visits to evaluate quality of care and service being provided.
Performs routine supervisory visits for clients in EPSDT Program.
Reviews and signs Home Health Aide clinical notes for inclusion in medical records weekly.
Coordinates the TB testing and Hep B vaccination program for new employees and annual requirements.
Maintains compliance with the New Mexico Pharmacy Board in handling storage and record keeping of pharmaceutical supplies.
Conducts the client care skills portion of orientation and evaluates competency of participants.
Conducts the advance homecare class and evaluates competency of participants.
Assess PSD clients for appropriateness of care plan and potential clinical needs from other sources.
Provides home visits with HHAs to provide further instructions for identified clients.
Participates in all staff meetings and provides clinical support for PSD staff, as schedule permits.
Conducts Initial Competency Evaluation and yearly Competency Evaluation on Home Health Aides (HHA); reviews and signs HHA yearly evaluations.
Provides training on equipment such as gait belts, blood pressure cuffs, etc. for external caregivers.
Provides additional training as needed to homemakers and home health aides.
Organize the clinic and other duties as assigned.
May be called upon to teach several of the monthly in-services as developed by the Nursing Services manager.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:
ADN, Diploma or BSN required.

Experience:
Experience as an RN in one or more of the following areas:
One-year Intermittent Home Care experience.
One-year community health or public health experience in the last two years.
One-year outpatient facility experience in the last two years.
One-year acute care experience in the last two years.

Licensure/Certification:
Current New Mexico license as a Registered Nurse

Other Qualifications:
Ability to travel in service area.
Current drivers license and auto insurance
