* Begins patient rounds at 0700. Sees postop patients in IRR, writes progress notes & transfers orders as needed.
* PA in operating room to be in OR by 0730 and assists in having patient prepped, draped, 7 ready for 0800 start.
* Serves as Floor PA to start patient rounds on 7C and visit and manage patients. Removes pacer wires 7 chest tubes as needed.
* Prepares post op patient for discharge (prescriptions, coumadin, teaching, post surgical teaching) and dictates discharge summaries.
* Checks all outstanding labs and CXR on in house patients.
* Responsible for seeing post op patients in office.
* Responsible for seeing pre op patients in office and ensuring H & P's, data sheets, pre op orders & labs completed.
* Serves as On call PA to check out with on call surgeon at end of day. Checks pre op patient labs & x-rays.
* Serves as Weekend call PA to meet with on call surgeon at designated in in IRR.
* Performs other functions as required.

Master's degree in nursing. Graduation from a program for physician assistants approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) of the American Medical Association, and possess a baccalaureate degree or two (2) years working experience as a Certified Physician Assistant. One to three years experience in cardiac surgery
