Position Summary: Funding available through 12/31/2010; continuance beyond that date is subject to the Department's operational needs as outlined in UBPPM #3200, Employee Classifications.

The University of New Mexico's Children's Campus provides the children of UNM's student, staff and faculty families with a high quality early childhood, educational and childcare experience. In addition, we are committed to serving the University community by providing a model program that exemplifies cutting-edge practice in early childhood education and that provides a setting for study, observation, research and training.

We are recruiting for an experienced Office Manager to plan and oversee all fiscal/administrative support for face pace office. Duties include human resources management, management of children's files, special projects and office services for the UNM Children's Campus administrative staff to include the Director, Operations Manager, Program Manager, Program Specialist, and Master Teachers. Other duties include classroom staffing, administrative support, mail, waiting list maintenance, enrollment, registration, billing, bookkeeping, payroll, purchasing, budgeting, equipment maintenance, facilities, and/or other related functions. Directly participates in departmental administrative decision making; establishes, implements, and enforces office policies and procedures, and sets workflow priorities and standards. Performs tasks which require advanced skills in organization and planning, an in-depth knowledge of Children's Campus operations and objectives including but not limited to New Mexico State Childcare Licensing Regulations and National Accreditation Standards, and overall knowledge of other University departments.

This is a full-time benefits eligible position.

Skills / Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED; Directly related management expertise in fiscal services, administration, and human resources gained through either 2 years of equivalent-level work experience OR completion of the UNM Management Academy.

At least 1 year of additional work experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed on the job description.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in:

Supervising, managing and training a team.

Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.

Overseeing and organizing a diverse and face-pace office.

Using database systems to manage payroll and human resources actions.

Working in a childcare center.

Providing excellent customer service to wide variety of customers.

Additional requirements for this position:

Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

A valid New Mexico Driver's License, or ability to obtain a valid NM Driver's License within six months of hire, is required for this job. Ability to secure and maintain a valid UNM Driver's License within six months of hire, is required for this job.

Must obtain and maintain current adult, child & infant CPR and First Aid Certification. Initial certification must be achieved within 6 weeks of date of hire. (Main Campus employees).

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.

Moderate to considerable physical activity. May require heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
