Job Corps is the nation's largest and most comprehensive residential, education and job training program for at-risk youth, ages 16 through 24. Since its inauguration in 1964, under the Economic Opportunity Act, Job Corps has provided more than 2 million disadvantaged young people with the integrated academic, vocational, and social skills training they need to gain independence and get quality, long-term jobs or further their education.Our Albuquerque Job Corps Center has the friendly, easy-going atmosphere of a small community college.

We are currently seeking a Counselor to provide counseling to students and other training as required by supervisor to meet Center student needs.

Specific duties may include:
- Provide educational, vocational, personal and social skills development counseling in individual and group settings.

- Review student background files; conducts personal interviews with students, as appropriate, to determine recommended placement of students into Center program.

- Continually update the Personal Career Development Plan with students and discussed progress. Conduct ongoing student performance; recommends programmatic and behavioral changed to students.

Skills/Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Counseling and Guidance, Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, Sociology or closely related field(Masters Degree preferred), plus two years of directly related experience. Please include a copy of your transcripts.
