SUMMARY
The District Sales Manager is responsible for assigned activities related to his/her respective sales people, from the sales budget, profitability, sales growth, market share, human resource needs and enforcing, policy and procedures. The position is a key management position and therefore contributes significantly to business results and future strategy of the district. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Achieve the net profit budget for the District teams as measured by the team statement and budget. Achieve sales goals as measured by monthly statements and budget. Achieve margin goals as measured by monthly statements and budget. Achieve expense goals as measured by monthly statements and budget. Establishes sales strategies for District to achieve Goals/Initiatives as measured by District budget. Manages and directs sales people in District to achieve sales and profit goals. Designs and recommends sales goals and sets short and long term sales goals, and training needs for each member of the district. Evaluates and implements new sales skills / techniques to increase sales volume among sales people in district. Recommends product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction / loyalty as measured by the results of the district. Ensures that projects are completed and within the budget projections. Acts as advisor to the sales People in District regarding projects, tasks and any operational issues as measured by the districts results to budget. Analyzes BI and other market intelligence to determine sales and profit potential for the district, each salesperson, and customers. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of field concepts, practices and procedures and demonstrates a wide degree of creativity as measured by results of District. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.); or equivalent; or 3 years related experience preferably at the District Sales Manager level or above. Well rounded skills in all functional areas and be familiar and supportive of process driven programs and initiatives such as Lean and Six Sigma. COMPUTER SKILLS Perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Other processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
