Jobing Description
Provide primary eye care involving diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with refractive anomalies and ocular conditions. Responsible for dispensing glasses / contact lense prescriptions and low vision aids as needed. Diagnose and screen eye diseases including those associated with systemic conditions with dilated eye exams. Initiate treatment and management for acute or cronic eye problems and/or referral to appropriate sub-specialty as clinically relevant. Utilize remote access telemedicine program to screen for ocular complications associated with diabetes and various other eye conditions. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.

Education Requirements:
Optometry accredited school graduate Experience Requirements: Contact lens dispensing and low vision management Licensure/Certification Requirements: Licensed to practice Optometry in State of New Mexico CPR Certification or must obtain within 30 calendar days of date of position Education Requirements - Preferred: Optometry residency of 1 year completed We Value Diversity!
