Job: Lab Technician Team Leader- Northside

We currently have an outstanding career opportunity in our Northside clinic.

The LAB TECHNICIAN TEAM LEADER serves as a leader and mentor for our ophthalmic lab technicians to facilitate the smooth flow of patients through the lab and ensure accurate testing results. Our lab technicians perform various tests on patients (e.g., fluorescein angiography, fundus photography, slit lamp photography). The team leader also performs these tests, but in addition is responsible for training lab technicians, participating in the hiring/performance evaluation/disciplinary processes, managing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage, and performing as a role model to department members.

Skills/ Requirements
Must hold a minimum of Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification; COT preferred. Must be willing to work toward certification as a Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA) and Registered Ophthalmic Ultrasound Biometrist (ROUB) status within our prescribed timeframe. Photographic and PC experience helpful. Able to learn to use and interpret various lab and testing equipment. Demonstrates a caring attitude and strong customer service skills by interacting in a friendly but professional manner and treating every patient with respect. Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to train and lead others. Able to maintain confidentiality of patient information. Willing and able to travel to and work at other Eye Associates' clinics as needed. Must be flexible about work schedule -- this position can involve long hours because our lab technicians work until all our patients have been seen.
